I have been thinking so far this week about the idea of "no regrets." This is a phrase a friend of mine iterated several times over the past few weeks. "No Regrets" is a great way to think about the past. Not that we should regret everything we've ever done, but learn from what we've done and learn to move forward from those times.
With that being said, thinking about the future does add a certain relevance to our past, especially in terms of where we see ourselves in 5, 10, or 20 years or maybe some other shorter amount of time. Our experiences in the past from jobs, interactions with others, relationships, or even books we've read, hold a great relevance for us.
Without those past happenings, we wouldn't be able to realize and fulfill our future goals. So, I don't regret the past, but I see the past as a relevant foundation to what will happen a little further down the road for me.
